You can't change the past, but you can ruin a perfectly good present by worrying about the future.

~~~~~~~ SPECIAL THOUGHTS:
All the blessings we enjoy are Divine deposits, committed to our trust on this condition, that they should be dispensed for the benefit of our neighbors. - John Calvin (1509-1564), The Institutes of the Christian Religion
~~~~~~~ THIS & THAT:

TO: The Secretary Of Agriculture

FROM: Smitty

SUBJECT: Farm Land

Dear Mr. Agriculture Secretary

My friend Mort Wilson received a check for $1000 dollars from the government for not raising hogs, so I wont to get into the Not Raising Hogs business next year.

What I wont to know is, in your opinion, what is the best type of farm not to raise hogs on, and what is the best breed of hogs not to raise?

If I get $1000 dollars for not raising fifty hogs, will I get $2000 dollars for not raising 100 hogs.?

I plan to operate a small scale at first, holding myself down to about $4000 not raised hogs which will give me $80000 dollars income the first year. Then I can afford an airplane.

Now another thing, those hogs I will not raise will eat $100000 bushels of corn, I understand that you also pay farmers not to raise wheat or corn, will I qualify for payment for not raising wheat or corn not to feed the $4000 hogs I'm not going to raise.

I'm also considering not milking cows, so please send information on that too.

Sincerely.
Smitty

~~~~~~~ TRIVIA:
Part 2 of 2 - The Wieliczka Salt Mine, which has been a source of rock salt since the late 13th century, contains beautiful bas-relief sculptures, altars, immense chandeliers, and dozens of life-size or larger statues hewn out of the salt walls. In addition to the chapels, the mine houses an entire underground museum and a sanatorium for people with respiratory illnesses.
