~~~~~~~ THOUGHTS:
I am beginning to learn that it is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all. - Laura Ingalls Wilder
~~~~~~~ SPECIAL THOUGHTS:

Jowett, the great preacher, used to tell of a girl who came to join his church. She was a servant girl, not well off, and not well educated. He wished to make sure that she knew what she was doing and that she was in earnest about her profession, and he asked her how she proposed to live the Christian life.

"I haven't much time off, sir," she said, "and I can't attend many meetings or even many services.""Well," said Jowett, "what do you do?"

"Well, sir," she said, "I always take the daily paper to bed with me at night."

Jowett was puzzled, as well he might be. "What's the good of that?" he said.

"Well sir," she said, "I look at the first page and I read the birth notices and I pray for the babies that have been born; and I read the marriages and I pray that they may be happy and true; and I read the deaths and I pray that God's comfort may come to these sorrowing homes."

~~~~~~~ THIS & THAT:
HOW TO SIMPLIFY HOUSEWORK
If you can't see behind the furniture or appliances, then it's clean back there.
An unmade bed will still be there tonight, ready for you to crawl into.
There are three things you can do with dirty laundry:
(Traditional) Wash/Dry/Iron/Fold/Put it away.
(Efficient) Wear it! It's probably clean enough!
(Philanthropic) Donate it! You wanted to shop for new clothes anyway!
Remember dust and dirt go under the rug. Trash and debris go under the sofa!
Get rid of your dust rags, vacuum cleaner, mops and brooms, and buy a leaf blower.
~~~~~~~ KEEP SMILING:

My husband has always had a beard. One day, he decided to shave it off. He came into the room where my 5-year-old daughter Samantha was and asked her, "Notice anything different?" To which she replied, "No" with a puzzled look on her face. My husband then said to her, "My beard's gone." Now the puzzled look disappeared and the innocent eyes appeared when she said "I didn't take it!" -- Karen and Rich S., N.J.

~~~~~~~ TRIVIA:
What's the world's fastest moving glacier?
As of 1999, the world's fastest moving glacier is Alaska's Columbia Glacier, which recently increased its speed from 25 meters per day (82 feet) to 35 meters per day (115 feet). No one knows why it is moving so fast.
The glacier, which ends in Prince William Sound near Anchorage, calves (releases) many icebergs into the water. In spite of its rapid movement, the terminus (farthest end) of Columbia Glacier is currently retreating, because so many icebergs are calving.
Many of the world's glaciers are retreating, and some have disappeared entirely. Some scientists think the retreat may be caused by global warming, but no one knows for sure.
