WITandWISDOM(tm) - June 28, 2001 ~~~~~~~ THOUGHTS: You can outdistance that which is running after you but not what is running inside you. - Rwandan Proverb Source: Peter's Pearls, http://www.peterspearls.com.au ~~~~~~~ SPECIAL THOUGHTS: As a single mother of three little ones when I went to bed at night I was more than ready to sleep. This particular night my oldest boy, 8 years old at the time had a terrible cold. I gave him some cough medicine. Tucked him in and went to bed. A little while later his little brother 3 years old, came crawling in bed with me, they shared a bedroom. I was half awake and could hear his brother coughing. I rolled over facing away from the younger one and prayed. I'm so tired Lord please heal my son and let me go back to sleep. The coughing persisted. Finally totally exhausted and staying half awake with the coughing noise, I prayed, "Lord if you want me to get up and take care of him, you're going to have to kick me out of this bed." At that precise moment my 3 year old rolled over and in his sleep kicked me in the rear. I laugh when I see myself literally jumping out of that bed. Rudy got his cough medicine, Vicks rub and the vaporizer set up. We all slept soundly the rest of that night. And I have a wonderful fond memory of the Lord's sense of humor. And it gave me the reassurance I needed as a young mother that My God would be there for me, that I was not raising the children alone, all I needed was to ask. I was a Christian of only 2 years, now my children are grown and living on their own, and I have seen how He has been there for them also, and I can always trust that He will be there with my children where ever they go. As I gathered my equipment, my K-9 partner, Jake, was barking, and I saw a little boy staring in at me. "Is that a dog you got back there?" he asked. "It sure is," I replied. Puzzled, the boy looked at me and then towards the back of the van. Finally he said, "What did he do?" Why is this? - Ian Naylor, Naples, Florida, USA ANSWER: Sounds like you used PowerPoint, a presentation manager that comes with Microsoft Office, to create or view the slide show of images. Your friends won't be able to see the file you sent them unless they have PowerPoint, too. Microsoft offers a free PowerPoint Viewer for Windows, http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/9798/Ppview97.aspx. By Leo Laporte who hosts "The Screen Savers" and anchors "TechLive." Both shows air daily on TechTV. Source: ACCESS, America's Guide to the Internet, Copyright (c) May 20, 2001, http://www.accessmagazine.com |
