~~~~~~~ SPECIAL THOUGHTS:
I visited my mother, who lives 300 km away in the city of Napier, New Zealand. On a previous visit, I had seen that some of her neighbours had ‘succulents' (similar to cactus) in their gardens. I have been building up a collection of these over recent times, so was keen to add to my collection.
Now, I am not very good at asking people for things, but have never known why, for I am a reasonably confident person in many areas. But, I did want some pieces off the succulents to propagate from! An internal battle ensued!
When I mentioned to my mum (mom) that I would like some cuttings, she was horrified that I would think of asking others for them. All of a sudden, an understanding of my inheritance hit me! So I plucked up the courage to visit one of the neighbours, who was more than happy to let me have any cuttings I wanted. Another neighbour was away, but I visited her later and happily ‘raided' her collection then.
As I now recognize the reason for my reticence, so with God's help, I am starting to overcome it. What amazes me now, is how long it has taken me to work it out! For our personalities are very much a product of our inheritance and our upbringings, aren't they? So often we use that as an excuse not to do the things that, deep down, we would like to do, and more importantly, the things that God would like us to do.
God tends to use us in our areas of weakness, rather than of our strengths, for then we have to rely upon Him, as we should do anyway. However, when He does choose to reveal a character weakness, as He did to me that day, we need to work with Him to overcome it.
I haven't fully overcome my inhibitions yet, but I am getting there! So if you live in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand, and have a succulent garden, be prepared for my visit! Our gracious God wants to heal us, to help us overcome our past hurts and inheritances. To grow us into people who are more like Jesus. We must be open and willing to let Him do it. Maybe then, all will develop succulent gardens which I can ‘raid'!
~~~~~~~ THIS & THAT:

Things It Takes Most Of Us 50 Years To Learn

The badness of a movie is directly proportional to the number of helicopters in it.

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness".

People who want to share their religious views with you almost never want you to share yours with them.

The main accomplishment of almost all organized protests is to annoy people who are not in them.

You should not confuse your career with your life.

When trouble arises and things look bad, there is always one individual who perceives a solution and is willing to take command. Very often, that individual is crazy.

~~~~~~~ KEEP SMILING:
One day my housework-challenged husband decided to wash his sweatshirt.
Seconds after he stepped into the laundry room, he shouted to me, "What setting do I use on the washing machine?"
"It depends," I replied. "What does it say on your shirt?"
He yelled back, "Oklahoma State University."
~~~~~~~ TRIVIA:

EYES . . .

Are the most complex organs you possess except for your brain.

Are composed of more than two million working parts.

Can process 36,000 bits of information every hour.

Under the right conditions, can discern the light of a candle at a distance of 14 miles.

Contribute towards 85% of your total knowledge.

Utilize 65% of all the pathways to the brain.

Can instantaneously set in motion hundreds of muscles and organs in your body.

In a normal life-span, will bring you almost 24 million images of the world around you.

The external muscles that move the eyes are the strongest muscles in the human body for the job that they have to do. They are 100 times more powerful than they need to be.
