~~~~~~~ THOUGHTS:
Age 51: I've learned that when you have an argument with your spouse, the first one who says, "I'm sorry I hurt your feelings; please forgive me," is the winner.
~~~~~~~ SPECIAL THOUGHTS:

Everyone has heard of Heinz, whose fifty-seven varieties have satisfied the hunger of millions. But few know that Mr. Heinz was a soul winner. At a revival meeting one day the minister turned to him suddenly and said, "You're a Christian man. Why don't you get up and get busy for Christ?"

Mr. Heinz went home in anger. He went to bed, but couldn't sleep. At four o'clock in the morning he got down on his knees and asked God to make him a power for Him. Then he went to sleep.

Soon after this he attended a meeting of bank presidents. Turning to the man next to him, he spoke of the Christian life. The man looked at him in amazement and said, "I've wondered many times why you have never spoken to me about Christ if you really believe in Him."

That man was the first of 267 souls that Mr. Heinz won to Christ from that time onward to the end of his life.

And that's our business in this interim world-winning citizens for the next.

~~~~~~~ THIS & THAT:
Dear God,
So far today,
I've done all right.
I haven't gossiped.
I haven't lost my temper.
I haven't been greedy, grumpy,
nasty, selfish or overindulgent.
I'm very thankful for that.
But in a few minutes, God,
I'm going to get out of bed;
and from then on, I'm probably
going to need a lot more help.
Amen
~~~~~~~ KEEP SMILING:

I was shopping in an arts and crafts store, where a friend of mine worked, for a gift for my niece. She had taken an interest in oil painting and I planned to purchase a beginner set of paints and brushes. My friend was at the cash register when I was checking out. I hadn't seen her for a few weeks and had started a diet in the meantime, having moderate success. She asked me if I had gotten thinner. I was thrilled that it showed already and replied that I had lost a few pounds.

She rolled her eyes and said, "I meant paint thinner."

~~~~~~~ TRIVIA:
Mahatma Gandhi is buried in California.
Source: Uncle John's Bathroom Reader
Before moving to Florida, we lived in Malibu, just a ½ mile from Gandhi's Garden-Shrine. On that site, there is a chapel, a small library, and an intricate, winding, garden-path that leads to the actual location where Gandhi's ashes are enshrined. It is such a "Magical and Mystical" place, that my daughter and I used to visit it several times a week, just to experience its beauty and peace! Although Gandhi is not technically "buried" there, it does seem that something of his presence lives on, in that garden! (His ashes are buried in Shrines, like this one, all over the world.) Sincerely, Joanne Kull
