~~~~~~~ THOUGHTS:
You've got to think about "big things" while you're doing small things, so that all the small things go in the right direction. - Alvin Toffler
~~~~~~~ SPECIAL THOUGHTS:

Minky and Simba were two dogs that lived in England some years ago. Minky was an elderly cocker spaniel that had lost her eyesight. Simba was a 3-year-old German shepherd. Without being trained or told to do so, Simba decided to be Minky's Seeing Eye dog.

Whenever Minky wanted to go out, Simba would grip her companion's long, floppy ear gently in her mouth and lead her down the stairs to the front door. There Simba would let go of Minky's ear and open the door with her paws. Grabbing the ear again, Simba would lead the spaniel out and help her to go wherever she wanted to go. Every day Simba took Minky by the ear to the feeding bowl and sat beside her while she ate, and then led her back again. Whenever the two dogs went out for a walk Simba would hold onto her old friend's ear for dear life. When they reached an intersection Simba would stop just as a good Seeing Eye dog would, wait for the traffic to clear, and then lead Minky safely across to the other side.

The two dogs were inseparable. Simba lived a life of completely dedicated service to Minky. By sharing her eyes with Minky, Simba made Minky's final days peaceful and pleasant.

~~~~~~~ THIS & THAT:
A new minister was talking to the oldest member of his congregation.
"I am 90 years old, sir, and I haven't an enemy in the world," said the aged one.
"That is a beautiful thought," said the clergyman approvingly.
"Yes sir," was the answer. "I'm thankful to say that I've outlived them all."
~~~~~~~ KEEP SMILING:

"At one time somebody told President Lincoln that Stanton, his Secretary of War, had called him a fool. Lincoln replied that it must be true, for, said he, "Stanton is usually right."
