~~~~~~~ THOUGHTS:
If we weren't meant to keep starting over, would God have granted us Monday? - Anonymous
~~~~~~~ SPECIAL THOUGHTS:

A poor, blind woman in Paris put twenty-seven francs into a plate at a missionary meeting. "You can not afford so much," said one.

"Yes, sir, I can," she answered.

On being pressed to explain, she said: "I am blind, and I said to my fellow-straw-workers, 'How much money do you spend in a year for oil in your lamps when it is too dark to work nights?' They replied, 'Twenty-seven francs.' "

"So," said the poor woman, "I found that I save so much in the year because I am blind and do not need a lamp, and I give it to shed light to the dark heathen lands."

~~~~~~~ THIS & THAT:
Dr. Cutter is a Veterinarian in Maine, known for his wry humor.
He surpassed himself one summer day when a city dog was brought to him after an encounter with a porcupine. After almost an hour of prying, pulling, cutting and stitching, he returned the dog to its owner, who asked what she owed.
"Fifteen dollars, Ma'am," he answered.
"Why that's simply outrageous!" she stormed. "That's what's wrong with you Maine people, you're always trying to over charge summer visitors. Whatever do you do in the winter, when we're not being gypped here?"
"Raise porcupines, Ma'am."
~~~~~~~ KEEP SMILING:

Former CBS news anchor Walter Cronkite was traveling through an airport with his wife, Betsy, when he was approached by a woman who thought he looked familiar. "You know, you look a lot like Walter Cronkite before he died, only a bit heavier," she observed.

"I've heard that," said the gravelly voiced newsman, who then turned to his wife and asked, "What did Cronkite die of?"

Without missing a beat, Betsy responded, "Thinness."

~~~~~~~ TRIVIA:
Would you live your life in a day on Venus?
Sort of - Venus is the planet that turns most slowly on its axis. It spins once every 243 Earth days. Since Venus takes 224 Earth days to complete one orbit of the Sun, its days are longer than its years.
