~~~~~~~ THOUGHTS:
Reconciliation is more beautiful than victory. -Violeta Barrios De Chamorro, President of Nicaragua
~~~~~~~ SPECIAL THOUGHTS:

Leaf-cutting ants are abundant in the warmer climates of the world, grow their own food down inside their subterranean tunnels. You might not like their diet, but they think that nothing tastes better than mold, a form of fungus. And to grow the mold, they need fresh leaves. So endless hours of the day and night are spent going back and forth between their underground home and the tops of various trees nearby where they carefully cut out sections of the leaves with their pincers. They then carry their precious piece of leaf down the tree and into their tunnels. Sometimes the pieces of leaf are much larger than the ant and look like green umbrellas. This is why they are often called parasol ants.

Just think about how long that journey is for the ant. Let's say the ant is a quarter of an inch long and that the trip one way is 30 feet. That means that each ant travels 1,440 ant-lengths. If we think of the trip m terms of boy- or girl-lengths, we are talking about a walk of more than a mile, one way. You would then have to pick up a very large green umbrella and carry it back to grow mold for you and your family to eat, and as soon as you set one down, you would turn right around and go after another one. That would be your job from dawn to dark, every day.

"Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and be wise! Even though they have no prince, governor, or ruler to make them work, they labor hard all summer, gathering food for the winter." - Proverbs 6:6-8 (NLT)

~~~~~~~ THIS & THAT:
Harold P. Berry of Gallway, Delaware handed a bank teller a note that said, "Give me all your money. I have a gun."
But instead of getting any money he got an "astonished glance" and the comment, "Sir, we don't have any cash here." Not believing her she had to open all the draws to show him and then, to get rid of him, she offered him the dollar left over from lunch.
And why didn't they have any cash?
The branch, within a supermarket, only handles loan applications. And, as a former police officer, Barry should have known better.
He was caught when bank personnel got his license plate number as he drove away. He really messed this one up.
