WITandWISDOM(tm) - April 20, 2004 ISSN 1538-8794 ~~~~~~~ THOUGHTS: The easiest thing to be in the world is you. The most difficult thing to be is what other people want you to be. Don't let them put you in that position. - Leo Buscaglia Source: Inspire, http://www.inspirelist.com/ ~~~~~~~ SPECIAL THOUGHTS: A satisfying life is measured by what we give to others - emotionally, physically, and sometimes financially. On a journey to Israel I visited the Sea of Galilee - a fresh lake that is brimming with life. It is alive because it gives out a portion of all it receives, flowing into the river Jordan. At the south end of the Jordan is the Dead Sea; the saltiest body of water in the world. It bears that name because there is no outlet; it keeps all it receives and can sustain no animal life. The lesson is clear. Giving keeps us dynamic and alive. It's been said that we are not cisterns made for hoarding - we are channels made for sharing. Remember, you were born with two hands, one to receive and the other to give. Moody used to fill up a pew in a rather aristocratic Boston church with street urchins. Many of the upper-crust church members resented this intrusion. When Moody tried to join the church, the board discouraged him. “Think it over for a month,” they advised. “And pray about it, too.” They thought that would be the last they would see Moody. But they failed to take into account his indomitable drive. The next month he appeared before the board again. Rather taken back, they asked, “Did you do what we suggested? Did you pray about it?” “I did,” Moody quietly replied. “And did the Lord give you any encouragement?” “Yes,” said Moody, “He told me not to feel bad because He has been trying to get in this same church for the last twenty-five years, too.” From: Serve Him With Mirth by Leslie B Flynn http://www.gospelcom.net/guide/resources/mirth.php Source: Online Evangelism by Tony Whittaker http://www.gospelcom.net/guide/index.php#intro ~~~~~~~ KEEP SMILING: I do not care to belong to a club that accepts people like me as members. - Groucho Marx Source: DailyInBox: Daily Reflections, http://mailroom.dailyinbox.com/dr/ ~~~~~~~ TRIVIA: Dryden Research Aircraft Photo Collection This site contains digitized photos of many of the unique research aircraft flown at NASA Dryden Flight Research Center from the 1940s to the present. http://www.dfrc.nasa.gov/gallery/photo/ ArcaMax New Sites, http://www.arcamax.com/cgi-bin/subconf |
