~~~~~~~ THOUGHTS:
One reason I don't drink is that I want to know when I am having a good time. - Nancy Astor
~~~~~~~ SPECIAL THOUGHTS:

An old legend tells of a monastery in France well-known throughout Europe because of the extraordinary leadership of a man known only as Brother Leo. Several monks began a pilgrimage to visit Brother Leo to learn from him. Almost immediately the monks began to bicker over who should do various chores. On the third day they met another monk who was also going to the monastery and he joined their party.
This monk never complained or shirked a duty, and whenever the others fought over a chore, he would gracefully volunteer and simply do it himself. By the last day the other monks were following his example, and they worked together smoothly.

When they reached the monastery and asked to see Brother Leo, the man who greeted them laughed: "But our brother is among you!" And he pointed to the fellow who had joined them late in the trip. . . .

Can you imagine how much better things would be if more politicians, educators and business executives saw themselves as servant leaders?

~~~~~~~ THIS & THAT:
When I was a kid, we walked 10 miles to school every day, sometimes in the rain or snow. Man, did we feel stupid when we found out there was a bus.
"We used to play spin the bottle when I was a kid. A girl would spin the bottle and if it pointed to you when it stopped, the girl could either kiss you or give you a dime. By the time I was 14, I owned my own home." - Gene Perret
~~~

"I'm so busy I don't know whether I just found a rope or lost my horse."

~~~
"It is difficult to produce a television documentary that is both incisive and probing when every twelve minutes one is interrupted by twelve dancing rabbits singing about toilet paper." - Rod Serling
~~~

"Happiness is having a large, loving, caring, close knit family in another city." - George Burns

~~~
"They say such nice things about people at their funerals that it makes me sad that
I'm going to miss mine by just a few days." - Garrison Kielor
~~~

"If men can run the world, why can't they stop wearing neckties? How intelligent is it to start the day by tying a little noose around your neck?" - Linda Ellerbee

~~~~~~~ KEEP SMILING:
On admission to the nursing home where I worked, each new resident was interviewed by a social worker.
During one session, an alert, twinkling-eyed, 96-year-old man was asked, "Did you have a happy childhood?"
"So far, so good!" he replied.
~~~~~~~ TRIVIA:

I hear that you shouldn't eat for three hours before you go to bed? Why not?

There are many reasons you shouldn't eat three hours before going to bed. It's not healthy, basically. When food rests in the stomach overnight, you aren't expelling any energy so the calories are stored more easily. Your stomach produces acid that digests food, and if you are lying in bed, the acid can creep up and cause damage to the esophagus or larynx. This can help worsen or even lead to reflux disease, voice disorders, swallowing problems, AND weight gain.
