WITandWISDOM(tm) - September 4, 2007 ISSN 1538-8794 ~~~~~~~ THOUGHTS: The easiest thing to be in the world is you. The most difficult thing to be is what other people want you to be. Don't let them put you in that position. - Leo Buscaglia Source: Carol's Thought for Today, http://home.comcast.net/~mrs.carol/ ~~~~~~~ SPECIAL THOUGHTS: What would ones philosophy and life be like if there was no God. Musings by a student who presents some thinking about testimonies no one has ever heard... "One day I realized there was no God, no one behind reality, no life after death. I realized existence is a meaningless accident, begun by chance and destined for oblivion, and it changed my life. “I used to be addicted to alcohol, but now the ‘Law of Natural Selection’ has set me free. I used to be greedy, but now the story of the ‘Big Bang’ has made me generous. I used to be afraid, but now ‘random chance’ has made me brave." Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water. - W. C. Fields Love thy neighbour as yourself, but choose your neighborhood. - Louise Beal Health food makes me sick. - Calvin Trillin The idea of all-out nuclear war is unsettling. - Walter Goodman Source: Quotes of the Day, http://www.quotationspage.com/qotd.html ~~~~~~~ KEEP SMILING: A doting father used to sing his little children to sleep until he overheard the four-year-old tell the three-year-old, "If you pretend you're asleep, he stops." It was right next door to a store that was closed on Sunday. They asked the owner if they could use his parking lot. He said that they could use it for 51 Sundays out of the year but that it would be chained off one week. They were happy with the deal, but curious why it would be chained off that one Sunday. He explained that he just wanted them to remember that it wasn't their parking lot!
