The girl I used to be.... And she gazed at me with her earnest eye And questioned reproachfully: Have you forgotten the many plans And hopes I had for you? The great career, the splendid fame, All the wonderful things to do? Where is the mansion of stately height With all its gardens rare? The silken robes that I dreamed for you And the jewels in your hair? And as she spoke, I was very sad For I wanted her pleased with me... This slender girl from the shadowy past The girl that I used to be. So gently rising, I took her hand And guided her up the stairs Where peacefully sleeping, my babies lay innocent, sweet, and fair. And I told her that these are my only gems, And precious they are to me; That silken robes is my motherhood Of costly simplicity. And my mansion of stately height is love, And the only career I know Is serving each day in these sheltered walls For the dear ones who come and go. And as I spoke to my shadowy guest, She smiled through her tears at me. When you already know the answer some questions sound funny, And so follows the questions. - Richard) How do the elk know they're supposed to cross at the "Elk Crossing" signs? At what elevation does an elk become a moose? Are the bears with collars tame? Is there anywhere I can see the bears pose? Is it okay to keep an open bag of bacon on the picnic table, or should I store it in my tent? Where can I find Alpine Flamingos? Did I miss the turnoff for Canada? Where does Alberta end and Canada begin? Do you have a map of the State of Jasper? Is this the part of Canada that speaks French, or is that Saskatchewan? Which is the way to the Columbia Ricefields? How far is Banff from Canada? What's the best way to see Canada in a day? Do they search you at the B.C. border? When we enter B.C. do we have to convert our money to British pounds? Are there phones in Banff? Where can I get my husband really, REALLY, lost?? A little later, she heard a commotion in the back yard. She called out "Are you out there wetting your pants again?" There was dead silence for a moment. Then a deep masculine voice answered meekly, "No, ma'am, I'm just reading the meter."
