~~~~~~~ THOUGHTS:
Whatever it is that you treasure in this life, you hold it loosely. So it does not hurt when
God has to pry your fingers open to take it away. - Corrie Ten Boom
~~~~~~~ SPECIAL THOUGHTS:

~~~~~~~ THIS & THAT:
Rosario, Argentina (Las Ultimas Noticias):
A planned mass escape from an Argentine jail backfired when a 225 pound prisoner got stuck.
Roque Vivas got stuck in a 12 inch hole dug in the ceiling by inmates of the prison at Rosario.
Five prisoners had already escaped but another 24 were waiting behind Vivas for their turn.
They ended up having to call prison guards to help their burly fellow convict, reports Las Ultimas Noticias.
A prison spokesperson said: "It was the funniest thing I've ever seen. This man was stuck from the waist down and shaking his legs.
The five men who managed to escape are still on the run.
~~~~~~~ TRIVIA:

Bamboo can grow about 18 inches every day - that's three quarters of an inch every hour. You can almost see it grow! In Japan, where this plant is extremely important, there is a joke that the plant grows so fast that you can hear it growing.

Bamboo does all of its growing in a short growing season at the beginning of summer, but the result is a tender, though very tall, shoot that takes the next three years to mature and become hard enough to use for most of the many products that are made from it. In Japan, for example, bamboo has been the most staple building material for centuries. Almost every part of this valuable plant is used. Even the leaves are used for making paper.

You rarely see a blooming bamboo, but the plant does flower and bear seeds. A bamboo plant goes for as long as sixty years without flowering. In fact, a few kinds of bamboo that you see, unless they are flowering, have never had a flower, because when the flowers come the plants will die. In Japan, a flowering bamboo is the sign of bad luck.
