~~~~~~~ SPECIAL THOUGHTS:
According to the story, Queen Victoria was once at a diplomatic reception in London. The guest of honor was an African chieftain. All went well during the meal until, at the end, finger bowls were served. The guest of honor had never seen a British finger bowl, and no one had thought to brief him beforehand about its purpose. So he took the finger bowl in his two hands, lifted it to his mouth, and drank its contents -- down to the very last drop!
For an instant there was breathless silence among the British upper crust and then they began to whisper to one another. All that stopped in the next instant as the Queen, Victoria, silently took her finger bowl in her two hands, lifted it, and drank its contents! A moment later 500 surprised British ladies and gentlemen simultaneously drank the contents of their own fingerbowls.
It was "against the rules" to drink from a fingerbowl, but on that particular evening Victoria changed the rules -- because she was, after all, the Queen. It is "against the rules" not to wash your hands before you eat and on that the Pharisees called the hand of the disciples who follow Jesus. But Jesus recognizes their hypocrisy and he quotes from Isaiah, "These people honor me with their lips but their hearts are far from me."
Groaners – Warning!
Did you hear about the pet store with the canaries that were constantly flying and never landed? They were giving them away for free because they came with no perches necessary.
~~~~~~~ KEEP SMILING:

I play on New York City's only women's hockey team. We do play rough. We have checking. The only difference between men's and women's hockey is that women check, but then they apologize.

~~~~~~~ TRIVIA:
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (UPI – 11-14-06) -- Election officials in Florida's Broward County were stunned to find one of the world's rarest stamps on an envelope containing an absentee ballot.
If it's genuine, the stamp on the ballot of unknown origin is a 1918 Inverted Jenny, similar to one sold in mint condition for $525,000 last year.
In October, 2005, an unnamed collector paid $2.9 million for a four-stamp block of Jennys. Only 100 in all were printed.
As of now, the stamp has been canceled -- and so has the mystery ballot, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.
By law, the ballot and accompanying paperwork will be archived for two years, then destroyed. But the stamp probably would be auctioned.
The 24-cent stamp was named for the plane it depicted. a Curtiss JN-4. In 1918, a sheet showing the picture upside down was sold by mistake and stamp collectors have been searching ever since for the Inverted Jenny.
