I had gotten onto a bus, with a few little ones in tow. There were no seats and I had a baby in my arms, but even my kids were used to such rides, and we tried to make the best of the situation. Suddenly a really old man reached out and offered to take the baby. I was horrified to impose on him, and said, "No, no, it's fine. We'll manage!" But then he made a statement which resonates in my mind forever, "The baby's not just yours, he belongs to all of us, he's the future of the Jewish people!" I handed over the precious bundle, awed by the insight. That baby is already married, thank God, with babies of his own, and I try to carry on that wonderful old gentleman's teaching, by always offering my lap or arms when I see a child who needs a place on the bus or elsewhere. This act of kindness has become imbued with a sense of mission, for eternity: we are not only private individuals, but doing our part in fulfilling God's Divine Plan in creating this universe. The dog became the main attraction at the event at Praia da Tiririca, part of the 2006 Surf World Championship. The dog and his owner surfed together on the same surfboard during the intervals of the competitions, reports Terra Noticias Populares. A police spokesperson said: "We were called to remove the pair because they were drawing more attraction than the actual competition." The dog’s owner, Caruso Mozart Volff said he has been surfing with his dog for years. He said: "He is great. Sometimes I think he is a better surfer than I am."
